When you think about how old the DMV technology is (some of it more than 50 years old!) and how the systems are not connected or in communication with each other, it's rather amazing that they are capable of as much as they are. The work is needlessly complicated by antiquated systems and digital relics, where both DMV employees and NY drivers suffer the consequences.
